Cotton, rayon or georgette: which fabric for which season?

Fabric decides how an outfit feels at four in the afternoon, which is the only time it really matters.

Cotton

Breathable and easy to wash. The default for hot, humid days and long hours in the office.

Rayon

Soft, light and drapes well, but it can shrink and wrinkle. Wash gently and cold.

Georgette

Light, slightly textured and graceful. Great for sarees and party wear, but best dry-cleaned.

Satin

Smooth with a sheen. Dresses up simple silhouettes, but can feel warm in peak summer.
